Help with iot thermal printer kit with raspberry pi zero w a

by elise0605 on Tue May 26, 2020 9:01 am

Hi! I am building the internet of things thermal printer kit with my raspberry pi zero w and I am currently on the assembly steps.. Do I have to purchase a gpio header and solder it onto my zero? Or is there another way around this connection?

I have never worked with raspberry pi before, so please respond to me as a beginner :)

Thank you,
Elise

Soldering on header pins is would probably be the better option. All Pi's have the same pinouts and this is a good reference:

Here are the suggested header pins:

You just need to somehow make the connections show here:

If you wanted, you could solder the wires directly to the Pi.
