Programming 5v, 16MHz Trinket Pro FTDI

by froccop on Sat Jun 13, 2020 5:46 pm

I have a trinket pro...an FTDI friend....set the logic for 5v...installed appropriate drivers FTDI and Arduino IDE...the trinket pro does not show up....a "Arduino Pro or Mini" shows up...however I have issues programming it?

It will allow me to program it if I use the Uno config...guessing because it's a 328P?...but I get an avrdude: 500_disable() : unknown response=0xe0

if i try the Arduino Pro or pro mini...guessing it's a clock issue?

Anyone have any experience in this realm, the literature is limited, I feel i'm doing something simple incorrectly? Thanks for the assistance

Hi froccop,

It sounds like your Arduino IDE does not have the Adafruit Boards link in place. Once you add that you can use the Tools --> Boards --> Board Manager to add the necessary adafruit boards package so that your Arduino will know abotu the Trinket Pro FTDI. You will not be able to use other board names like arduino Pro or Mini.
