Greeting and sound board help!

by dungleduc88 on Tue Jun 16, 2020 11:43 pm

Hi all im a new so i want to say hello.

And second,

I'm trying to build a stuffed animal that plays different sound tracks when a button is triggered by squeezing it (say in the stuffed animal's paw). I was able to get the sounds working using an Adafruit soundboard, but I have to listen to the track all the way through before it goes on to the next. Is there a (relatively easy) way to be able to skip to the next track by pushing the button twice quickly and/or pause if pressing it once? I don't see that option in how the board was pre-coded.
Tks for any help you can provide!!

To do that, you'd have to use the serial control approach:
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-aud ... io-control
which would require an additional board running the serial control software. So, maybe not easy?

The basic triggering mode is pretty simple. It just looks for a button press, then plays that sound, then looks again for button press, etc.. It does not scan or react to the buttons while the sound is playing.
