MicroSD not pre-loaded + BME280 not detected

by smcclure11 on Fri Jun 26, 2020 10:53 am

Hi,

I ordered (#2306274) kit 3592 and pi 3 B 3055. The SD appears to be empty. Only the red led on the pi lights up. When I look at the SD from a PC it reports empty.

How can get this SD loaded with your image or replaced?

Also, I used another SD card that I previously loaded for another pi to try and test the BME280. I installed the drivers and the sample code is reporting no hardware detected. Ideas on this?

Thanks,

Steve

I'll ask about the SD card. But it's also pretty easy to just download an OS image and install it to the SD card from here:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/

For the I2C issue, make sure you've enabled I2C on the Pi. You can do that via raspi-config.

the microSD should have had NooBs on it, but NooBs updates really often so you're best off following raspi's tutorial to load up the latest version anyhow!

I did not know if the BME280 problem was related to me not getting the right things installed without the pre0loaded version. But it turns out that not having "enabled I2C on the Pi"
was the problem.

Thanks!
