Hi all,
I'm looking to purchase a replacement battery for a Radsone earstudio es100. The battery inside is SL572035 3.7v 350mAh. This battery appears to be discontinued.
I have found the following two batteries on this website, and want to check whether they have the exact same physical dimensions as the original (or smaller) as the battery must fit inside a small casing.
Lp402025 https://www.adafruit.com/product/1317
Lp552035 https://www.adafruit.com/product/2750
Are the numbers related to the dimensions of the battery?
Thanks for any and all assistance.

If you scroll down to the "Technical Details" on those product pages, the dimensions of the cells are posted.
Another variable to be aware of is the polarity of the connector. Some manufacturers wire them one way, some wire them the other. Double check before connecting the cell. It is not difficult to swap the wires in the connector if necessary.

Thanks for pointing that out. The first set of dimensions looks more believable for a 350mAh cell. But I'll have our web-team verify that and correct the page.

Hi,
Did you managed to replace the battery? Does it work?
My Earstudio ES100 is shutting off randomly which I suspect is a battery failure as well, would like to know if this is the same case as yours.
Thanks.

Unfortunately replacing the battery did not work. I suspect my issue was actually firmware related as neither the old or new battery would charge when inside the device, and the issue began when I made a change to the charging options within the earstudio application.
The headfi forums have a long thread of people with es100 issues, spontaneous deaths, failure to charge, switch on, etc. I'd recommend the qudelix 5k if you are looking for a replacement. The device was developed by the previous tech lead on the es100 if I am not mistaken. It has a 10 band visual eq, a parametric EQ, and more solid build quality than the es100.
Might as well try replacing the es100 battery first, but I was very averse to buying another es100 when that failed.

Good news, I've bought a replacement battery and had it replaced. I've been listening for 2-3 hours without any power interruption for the past 2 days. But there is once that it shuts off on its own, I'm thinking it should be a firmware issue.

Hello Inferno,
I'm happy to read that you find a solution for your es100.
how did you open your es100?
My battery is dead, the es100 won't work unless connected to usb.
do you have the references of the battery you bought as replacement?
Thanks for your help...

Hi Smirnboy,
You may refer to the photos i've attached. You need to pry from the top case (LED facing upwards) from the corners. Then remove one screw that ties the board on the bottom case. Next is to pry from the corners of the bottom case, and once opened, you can access your battery. Some desoldering is required to remove the battery from the board. The spec will be 3.7v, 350mAh.
The code 572035 refers to 5.7mm thickness, 20mm width, 35mm length. But you may look for different dimension as long the specs are similar and can fit into your ES100. Do let me know if you need any further advice, good luck!
