3624 Mini Power Meter

by kkoscheka on Wed Jul 15, 2020 2:33 pm

I recently purchased the 3624 mini power meter because the Technical Details listed the current resolution as 0.0001A. However, the received part only has a resolution of 0.00A.
Is there a way for me to increase the resolution on my 3624 Meter?

Thank You

Could you post a screenshot of the part of the page with that statement please? All I see is a link to the datasheet, which says the resolution on current measurements is 50mA (0.05A).

Here is the link to DigiKey:

You are right, the resolution has been changed to 0.05A. I used this part in the past because of the higher resolution. It appears it's been modified and no longer has the alligator clips, but now includes a temperature probe. Different part.
Anyway, is there a way to modify the the current sense/amplifier circuit to increase the resolution.

Thank You,

Thanks for the link.. I'll let the folks who handle documentation know about that.

We don't build that one, so we don't have any documentation on its design. I don't know of any way to change the resolution, and my guess is that it would require a complete rebuild. Getting 100uA resolution is much harder than getting 50mA resolution.

i really doubt it had 100uA resolution/10mA precision - there was a revision a few months ago, the vendor no longer has the older version. We didnt see that the spec's have changed, we'll update the product page with new specs! if you cant use it, email digikey for a refund - this is the only meter we have!
