Bonsai Buckaroo Motor Controller Terminal

by Joe Parkfly on Thu Jul 30, 2020 1:02 pm

Hello,

Hope all is well. My son and I recently received Adabox 15 (my order #ORDER #2330073-5109605225), and commenced working on the moisture sensor / self watering plant project.

Regarding the motor controller terminal on Bonsai Backaroo board - using a plastic pointer, I only applied enough pressure to release the clamp mechanism when attempting to connect the positive lead, and the connector tab cracked and broke off VERY easily. This is a very brittle piece of plastic ! Wouldn't that terminal component be a bit better using a nylon or more flexible plastic ?

I think this can be considered a defective product. I was wondering if you would consider sending us a replacement Bonsai Buckaroo board?

IMHO, we adhered to the normal use of this component, and it promptly broke. I also happened to be browsing some similar projects/tutorials on learn.adafruit.com and just by chance saw that the same exact condition exists on this same board, used in the step by step photos used in your own tutorial.

That indicates that our experience is not an isolated occurrence. I am attaching a photo of our broken board, and also two screenshots from a tutorial in your learning system, illustrating the very same issue.

Respectfully,

Danny Seyfried
