Cheap USB to ADC/DAC and GPIO

by puterguy on Thu Sep 02, 2010 12:33 pm

I am looking to do some fast, simple data acquisition (both A/D and digital) and potentially also some output (DAC and digital lines).

I know I can do this by getting into something like an Arduino board, but I would love to have something fast and dedicated with 1-2 channels AD/DA and a couple of digital channels. I also want something that is as fast as possible relative to USB2.0 limitations.

Alternatively, if it would be simpler/cheaper even just a simple 1 or 2 channel USB ADC would be great.

Such a setup could with the right software also be used as a low cost analog/digital scope.

Anybody know of any kits/schematics for that?

Thanks

From the research I did using the Teensy board would be the way to go.

See the start of my project here and read through the measuringstuff post for some good info:

No code yet as I'm trying to get the hardware all figured out.

BUT you might have some delay in getting the teensy boards:

When I saw that I was :(
