JST-XX connectors

by DanGR on Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:13 am

There are now three types of JST connectors sold in the shop for various products. JST-SH for STEMMA QT, JST-PH for batteries, neopixels, and servos etc., and JST-SM on some of the neopixel strips and the 3w chainable one.

It can be very confusing as a lot of the descriptions and tutorials simply say JST connector. It would be very helpful if this can be cleared up.

Checking the STEMMA QT controller section of the shop shows some new improvement in this direction, however, there are some products in the wrong section.

The things not JST-SH are:

https://www.adafruit.com/product/3938
https://www.adafruit.com/product/4428
https://www.adafruit.com/product/4357

Things that should be in the JST-SH controller category:

This is most likely not a complete list of controllers and JST classification problems.

Thanks for all the work everyone does to help the electronics world.

Here is a better list of the products listed in the STEMMA QT section of the shop that DO NOT have STEMMA QT which uses JST-SH connectors.
The correct type of JST connection is after each link.

Just a bump on this thread as the list is still valid.

I knew there was a kit for JST XH connectors and reading the forums found that the lock solenoid has a JST XH connector.

This issue is nearly cleared up in the shop, but the controllers in the STEMMA QT section still has three problems.
https://www.adafruit.com/category/621

1) https://www.adafruit.com/product/4242 the PyGamer does not have STEMMA QT

2) The MagTag does have STEMMA QT but is not included in the section

3) The Clue also has STEMMA QT and is also missing in this section.

Here are two more STEMMA QT issues:

1) https://www.adafruit.com/product/4775 the Metro ESP32-S2 has STEMMA QT but is not in the controller section.
https://www.adafruit.com/category/621

2) https://www.adafruit.com/product/4528
https://www.adafruit.com/product/4424
These two products are VERY similar and the descriptions should link to each other so the customer can decide exactly which one is suitable for the application. The second link is not in the STEMMA QT cable section.
