Pygamer MP3-player

by Lirik on Mon May 03, 2021 4:44 pm

Hello! I've got a proble while following this guide.
The problem was at last step - playing the audio. It just frozen. I have CircuitPython 6
And only in circuitpython 5.3 it shows readable message:
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
line 400, in change_stream
OSError:[Errno 5] Input/output error

I didn`t change enything in original script, just copied files as is. So for now following your guide it will show this message on CP v5.3 or just frozen with no errors on CP 6.2

How to fix it?

I just tried this with latest everything and it worked here.

Are you getting the CircuitPython firmware from here?
https://circuitpython.org/board/pygamer/

And to get the MP3 player and associated files, are you using the Download Project Bundle button?

If you remove the SD card and run it, do you at least get the message on the screen that says no sd card found?

yes. Everything is fine untill I will not choose folder for playing songs.
Then I see song playing screen, but nothing happpens and device also frozen in total commander too, noway to copy something.
Even navigation between player's buttons by pygamer joystick doesn't work.
After ~1 minute device is automatically disconnected, and after 10 secs again automatically reconnected but as undefined. (look at the picture)

download/file.php?mode=view&id=83411

Comes to normal only after manual reset.
So this gonna happen every thime

OK, it may be related to something with the SD card then. Do you have another SD card you could try?

64 GB. Mp3-player can`t see it. Does it has some requierments? Maybe formatting partition to NTFS/FAT/ext?

Updated. Found another 16gb card. Yes, it works.
Thats strange, cause this card is older :D
And NES emulator worked exellent.

Yes, it needs to be a FAT partition. Not exFAT, which a 64G card might be.
