How to request CAD for Adafruit components?

by csotzing on Thu May 13, 2021 7:48 am

Hi there,
I'm designing a case for a Pi zero with an eink display and humidity/temp sensor. Having the CAD for these components would really help the design. Is it possible to request the 3D models? Specifically I'm interested in models for these components:

Thanks in advance for your help!

All is open hardware, so the designs are always shared here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-bme ... /downloads
https://learn.adafruit.com/2-13-in-e-in ... /downloads
They are Eagle files, but with KiCAD you can convert them to other formats. Or you have that true Eagle program at your disposal.
It's not true 3D, but the layout is often the most important. The parts can be easily extruded.

There's also this repo which contains 3D CAD files:
https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_CAD_Parts

You can open an issue as a way to request parts get added. Just keep in mind it's not a guarantee they will get created. These get worked up in conjunction with other projects and then get put in that repo so others can use them. But opening an issue will at least raise awareness that there is desire for specific parts.

It looks like there is a CAD file for PID 2652. So that one at least is available.
