LCD backpack with graphic LCD

by wesg on Sat Nov 13, 2010 2:20 pm

Browsing the new product page, I noticed a new LCD backpack item. This is a great idea, but how about one for a graphic LCD? I've never been able to get mine working properly, but I think that's because it's not a KS0108 chipset. It would sure free up a few pins on the regular Arduinos...

That's a really cool product! And a really good price, and a catchy name. I have never seen that type of thing for sale for that price. Very handy. Yeah,a grapic one would be cool. But I don't know of graphic LCD's are standardized enough, like alphanumeric ones are.

The ST7565 graphical LCD only needs 4-5 pins. But you need RAM for the image. It's a reasonable trade-off for some applications. http://www.adafruit.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=37&products_id=250
