If you really are worried about the two resistors, easy solution:

Replace each voltage dividing pair with a pot. Where each resistor would connect to Vcc and Ground, put one of the outer pins of the pot. Where the two resistors meet each other and the third wire goes to D-/D+, at that junction, put the middle pin of the pot.

Then you can just adjust the voltage on the fly. The resistance of the pot overall will remain the same, only the middle point will change. That's what's so awesome about pot.

Err, pots plural. Not pot.

That would be wrong.
