Hi There, first project with my son of 8 years old and trying to get the screen display working.
We have soldered all points and when we switch on the PiGRRL Game pad we get a white blank screen on the 2.8 display.
We don't see any code loading. The ONLY button that cause the screen to go off is the Y button off the game pad.
I've tested the Rasberry pi with an external monitor and its booting fine with the OS.
I've replaced a new 40 pin ribbon end and soldered again.
the screen is getting power as when i switch on it immediately comes up lit, but nothing.
I check the two grey connectors are fully pushed on on the board of the screen as per your help notes.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Matt

Can you post pictures of the connections and tell us what you are loading to the pi?

We don’t do exchanges of hardware that’s been soldered or modified, but we’ll help you debug the system, and will replace any parts that may have failed even tough you handled them correctly.
The first step in debuging is to step back to the simplest pieces you can. Trying to debug a system with 10 independent-and-untested pieces is about 100 times harder than testing the pieces individually.
Let’s start with the RasPi. If f you connect it to an external monitor and power it through the USB jack, does it boot and run the code it should?
