I recently purchased a nRF52840 Express Feather.
I am having a similar problem as was experienced in this thread where no matter what usb cable/port I use, the feather is never recognized, with similar absence of any feather device when running dmesg command etc:

I don't have any other feather devices, this is my first purchase so I don't have any to compare to like the user from the other thread. Was wondering if I could get a replacement to try to see if that works....or if you have any other suggestions to try. Thanks for your help!

Re: nRF52840 Express not being recognized via USB
Have you actually gotten any of your USB cables to make a data connection with some other, known-working device?
It doesn't have to be a microcontroller, but you do need to verify the cable. The current record is someone who had to try 10 different cables before finding one that worked.

Sadly I didn't come close to the record...only got to 3 :)
Thanks for encouraging me to continue working through cables...and apologies that I required a post and your time to get there :) Take care.

No worries.. charge-only cables are a nuisance that cause trouble for people every day.
Glad to hear you got things working. Happy hacking!
