Wire gauge question for the USB DIY Connector Shell - Type M

Post by chaseb1122 »

Good afternoon, I just had a quick question about the recommended wire gauge for the USB DIY Connector Shell - Type Mini-B Plug, part no. 1389. Could I use a 24 AWG wire for this connector? The cable I am making is approximately between 4 to 6 inches long. Thanks in advance.

USB cable gauge is usuall between 22 - 28 gauge so 24 is good.

Thank you. Do you happen to know the diameter of the strain relief? I am wondering what size cable I can fit in there.

I'm pretty sure this is the strain relief size:
Max Cable Diameter: 3mm / 0.12"
