I made a sensor for our water cistern to monitor the level. Our house water supply is fed from from a well, so this saves us going downstairs to check.
Right now the display is on a Pi Zero hanging off its USB cable that plugs into a wall outlet with charge ports in the kit-BANNED. Now I'd like to make something flush-mount that hangs cleanly in—or on—the wall without exposed wires.
I'm considering if I need to install another 120V outlet box, with a recessed USB outlet that has space space to fit a cable and the Pi Zero, so I can hide the mess behind a switch plate cover.
Another option might be to 3D print a case for the Pi Zero with a USB-A male connector mounted on the back so it can be plugged directly into a wall-mount USB.
I'm curious what else might be available for in-wall USB or what anyone else has done for powering a similar project to be displayed on the wall.
(apparently "kit-BANNED" is a banned spam word. Who knew.)
