STEMMA QT CABLE LENGTH

Post by LACOOPSURMER »

Hello,
we are currently in the process of setting up a fridge / freezer temperature monitoring system using BME 280 sensors (and Raspberry Pi Zero WH), however the cable we would like to use and which is normally compatible (REF: STEMMA QT / Qwiic JST SH 4-pin Cable with Premium Female Sockets - 150mm Long PRODUCT ID: 4397 https://www.adafruit.com/product/4397) is too short, do you have a solution to find an identical cable with a longer length ? (we would need between 800mm and 1000mm).
Thank you in advance for your help, best regards.

i2c is designed for short distances. 800mm-1000mm is really pushing the limits. You can use an active terminator such as this one to extend the range: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4756

The SparkFun product linked above will also work.
