I've powered my new tiny thermal receipt printer with a 5V 2A Power Supply, and it lights up with a inconsistently blinking red LED. After loading the roll of paper it came with, pressing the button simply feeds blank paper through with no actual test page.
Am I just loading the paper wrong? Is it not the right power source? Is it defective?
I apologize for the giant photo size.

That's the expected behavior. The button is a paper feed button. To perform the self test, you need to hold the button *while* applying power. Once powered, it just does paper feed.
