Help with selecting Lipo Charge Board

Post by keepr »

Components in this system are a 6600mAh lipo battery, lipo charging board Adafruit #4410, a motor speed control board, and a 6v Pump

We are working on a prototype for our live bait aerator pump system and recently purchased product 4410, however it doesn't appear strong enough to power this motor speed control board #1 (see board 1 link below)

Does this make sense? I've connected everything correctly but the speed control board #1 will not turn on. The system works using this board #2 (see board 2 link below)

I think I might have to use the 1903 or 1944 to get enough power to it. Can you please advise if this is correct? Also advise, if you have a version of 1903 or 1944 with USB C.

I'm a little confused. How does a LiPo charger (4410) fit in into your design?

There are currently no LiPo chargers with USB-C connectors. [edit] other than the 4410... but none of the PowerBoosts.

Hi Dave, thanks for the response. Here is a picture of the setup: https://imgur.com/a/2FfKJDZ?s=sms

I think I figured it out - the #1 PWM board is rated for 6v.

Yes, it looks like the controllers and motors you linked to are 6v (or more for the controllers)

Where does the battery fit in? To power the motor/controller? You are right that it's not high enough voltage for that (topping out at 4.2 with a full charge). One of the PowerBoosts will give you ~5.2v from a LiPo, but that's still shy of the 6v you need.
