Backpack Headers

Post by WA7SKG »

I have some P877 BackPacks for use with LED displays. I'd like to install headers to plug the displays into rather than solder the displays directly to the board. I'm having trouble identifying exactly which headers to order. These are 14 pin displays. I looked at 14 pin IC sockets, but they seem too narrow. Any ideas with suggested part numbers would be appreciated.

I don't know of any sockets that wide. But you could use 2 pieces of straight female header: https://www.adafruit.com/product/598
You can cut them to length with a pair of wire cutters.
