Defective Raspberry Pi

Post by IMH1978 »

Hello, we purchased five Raspberry Pi 1B+ units and one appears to be defective. The green activity light stays solid at powerup. The SD card works in other units. I should note that this particular Pi arrived in a water damaged box and was not in a anti-static bag. I would like to get a replacement, if possible. Thank you.

Were All 5 in the same order?

When and where did you buy this?

Checking the records, we see that was ordered on March 15 so it's too late to return it.

Is there a means to have it replaced? We use these for several exhibits in the museum as well as our visitor's center. I'm going to need to have all five in working order soon. Thanks.

Return/replace have the same window. One month. Even with a bit of leeway, it's well beyond that. That's why it's important to test things as soon as they arrive. Especially if the packaging looks suspect.

Ok. I guess I was lulled into complacency because I have always received quality products from Adafruit. In both personal purchases and for the two museums I’ve purchased items for, this is the first defective piece I’ve received. I will be more conscientious about promptly testing future purchases. Thank you for your time.

Agreed. I think I received one problematic one since I started getting products from Adafruit over 12 years ago. Unfortunately somethings aren't obviously a problem until you try to use them.
