I have the U2F Zero device and I would like to use it with my Adafruit account.
Is this even possible?

Yes, you can set this up with your Adafruit account. Just jump to the next section of the guide link you provided.

That next page just explains how to validate my account. Nothing about enabling the U2F device.
I'm expecting a page that says 'press the button on your U2F device' to register it for multi-factor authentication.

I see. I tried going into my account to verify the 2FA options. You will need to use Twilio Authy App or Google Authenticator at this time.
