High Voltage/Current LiPo Battery

Post by Astro12 »

I have a project where I am trying to power a stepper motor with a LiPo battery, or LiPo batteries in series. I need 12 V and about 2 A to power the motor. I tried purchasing three 3.7V 2500 mAH LiPo batteries with the intent to connect them in series, but I read on your website that that's not recommended. Do you package any LiPo batteries that could meet a 12 V 2 A need?

We do not carry any higher voltage LiPo packs. But battery specialist sites or RC hobby sites will have a selection of higher voltage LiPo packs, along with appropriate balance chargers. The RC hobby sites in particular tend to have packs designed for high current delivery capability.

LiPo cells are nominally 3.7v, so the higher voltage packs will come in multiples of 3.7v. A 3S pack will be 11.1v which should be close enough to 12v for your steppers.
