Adjustable volume on soundboard

Post by rmuttt »

I am going to use this Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board Product ID: 2210 in a museum exhibit, and I was wondering if it is possible to convert it to mono or to add a variable volume control. Thanks in advance.

You would need an external amplifier to have a variable volume control (I assume you mean a knob or slider). To get mono you would need an external circuit to mix L+R or just use mono sound files.

Would it be possible to place a potentiometer between the sound board and external amp to achieve this? What value pot would work? Once again, thanks for your help.

An amplifier should have some sort of gain control. That's a better approach. Just a note, if you are using an external amp, use the L/R pins on the edge of the board (which are line out level) rather than the amplifier output.
