40-pin FPC Extension Board + 200mm Extention

I ordered a 200mm, 40 pin Extention (Product ID: 2098) to hook up to a 5" TFT display (Product ID: 1680). This may seem silly, but I am trying to figure out what is the correct way to hook up the extension. The photos show the cable and display hooked up in two different manners. I have tried both ways of placing the cable but both don't work (leads facing up or down). I am trying to decipher if the cable/board is bad or if I am just doing something silly and hooking it up incorrectly.

I don't have one but the description says " This 40pin FPC extension board has two 40-pin flex connectors (both are bottom contact type), " A picture of your connections would help, thanks.
