What is the current requirement fo rthe LED in the P4188A push button?

Just a guess based on the information available, but 20mA is likely. Two things to note.

1) The forward voltage is differs between 2.2v and 3.0v depending on color selected.
2) The product page recommends adding more diffused colored LEDs for a better look.

Indicator LEDs are rated for 25mA. It's the industry standard. They can operate at higher current, but it reduces their lifespan.. at 100mA they'll reach their 50% loss point in about 8-10 hours.

Given the efficiency of ultra-bright LEDs these days, they can operate down to 3mA. The current you use depends on your personal judgement of 'too bright' and 'not bright enough'.
