Hi,
I'm working on a light project and I based the component's choice on another lamp I've got, the technical data says :
- Battery 2600mAh 3,6v
- Input 5.0V 600 mA Li-ion
- Lamp Type 3W LED
- Micro-USB plug on the lamp to load (light can be switched on during the loading)
- "Touch" switch with dimmer (3 steps)
I could try to open the lamp but it seems difficult without a total breaking...
So as I am a beginner, I wish maybe you could help me.
I find this :
- Adafruit Micro-Lipo charger with USB-C
- Toggle On/Off Capacitive Touch Switch
- Battery Lipo 3,7V 2500mAh
- Light socket (bulb is same type as the lamp I talked about - G4 socket)
One design like my drawing here - black is black & white is red (don't know about the connection i could use, wires that need to be doubled... mini Wago connector?), is that correct? Or totally wrong ;)...
Thanks for any help, Have a nice evening/day,

The capacitive touch toggle sensor is not a power switch. It has a logic level output that can only source a few milliamps. In order to switch any substantial load, you would need to add a transistor: https://learn.adafruit.com/transistors-101/example-uses

Re: Project with Adafruit Lipo charger, Lipo battery, Led &C
Hi, thank you for your reply, I read your linked post.
In my case I have other components and I don't understand how to connect the whole package:
Toggle Capacitive touch switch connected by :
GND to Transistor TIP 120 (3rd pin)
VDO to Transistor TIP 120 (2nd pin)
TIP 120 connected by :
First pin to Socket
Micro Charger Lipo connected to battery and by:
GND to 3rd pin of TIP 120 For sure, I'm not right and I still don't know how to connect the other wire of the socket (both cable are the same, no difference +/-)
Thanks again, Have a nice day,

I see a number of issues there. Let's start with the electrical requirements for your lamp:
First: What is going in the socket? Do you have a G4 bulb that will work on 3.7v from the LiPo? The lowest voltage G4 bulb I have seen is 12v. That would require a higher voltage battery pack.

Hi,
I based my research on a lamp (3,6v battery & g4 socket/bulb) I bought.
I've just try to connect directly one 3,7v battery on the bulb and it works...
Now, it needs one charger and switch... do you think the touch switch could work? I'm a little bit lost about the eletronic setting of this project.
Thank you for your time!

Hello,
Thank you!
I've tried to connect the battery, the charger micro-lipo and the bulb. Do you think I can add the charger to your drawing?
For information the black piece is the transistor, am I right? And what's the use of the small yellow cylinder?
Thank you!

And which model of transistor do you think about?

You can use a PN2222: https://www.adafruit.com/product/756

No diode in that circuit. That is a 470 ohm resistor. https://www.adafruit.com/product/2781

Hello,
I did the test and it's working but it seems the bulb is weak.
When I do connect without the switch, the light is better and right I think. What do you think I did wrong or is missing? Thanks for any help,
Kind regards,
Ophélie
