I'll post some examples a little down the road, but the results are clearly better than using an Epson V750, one of the top consumer level flatbed scanners.
The scan shown in the video from a 4x5" negative would produce a print 22"x28" at 720dpi, the native input resolution of pro Epson printers.

Re: XY stage for dslr film scanner
I recently bought an Edmund Scientific USAF 1951 chrome-on-glass high resolution target. It allows me to test resolution. My Nikon D600 with a Rodagaon D 75mm F4 lens at 1x magnification achieved 3000 spi (samples per inch). Moving the lens to 1.5x magnification gave 3700 spi. Using a Schneider 50mm Componon-s, an enlarging lens, reversed at 2x gave 5700 spi. Since an Epson 750, one of the top consumer flatbed negative scanners, only achieves about 2400 spi, that's a pretty good result.
