Hi,

I also bought this sensor in hopes that it would tell me when to water. I will still make use of it.
A quick beginner question though. In the product link it states: "Don't forget to connect a 10K resistor from the blue Data line to VCC."
In the tutorials or any pictures I see there are no resistors. And I`m trying to figure out how to connect this but my limited newly learned skills prohibit me from seeing the solution. Does anyone have an idea why it states that or how to connect it?

Hmmm. Strictly speaking, there should be a pullup resistor between the data line and VCC (5v). The simplest way is to connect it between the blue wire and the red where were they connect to the Arduino.
