Hi, I was working on making a Pi Grrl and i had everything ready for the first run. I loaded it up with a keyboard plugged into the USB slot, yet when I loaded it up the keyboard wasn't functioning. I tried all of the USB slots but none worked. I tested a few other things, but when I used them it didn't work either. I'm pretty sure the OS for the NES rom is blocking out the USB slots for some reason. I know it isn't the RPi because i loaded it up with Raspbian and the keyboard worked fine. I thought maybe I should re-install the OS but i wanted to see if any other smarter people would know what to do about it. I searched Adafruit's forums to see if anyone else had this problem, but I found nothing. If you know of a solution for this problem PLEASE let me know.

Is this a Pi Model B+, by any chance?

Should we get a plain model B instead for this project?

The B+ has a different USB controller. Older images won't work with it. If you want to use an older image like this without modifying it, then you should get a Model B

I think I am having a similar problem. Not all of my Roms are showing up. I have other pi's set up with retropie on them too and all the roms show up after I install the loaded USB. For some reason just a few will show up for all the systems. I'll have to check when I get home for the model but I do know its not a Raspberry pi 3 like the others I'm using. Does anyone else seem to have this issue?

ROM stuff is all managed by the retropie installation. sometimes ROMs are corrupted or they are not in the right folder. dont forget to restart emustation once you load it in. you can also 'practice' by installing plain retropie and using your computer/TV for monitor and get a hang of using retropie - THEN making the pigrrl since its harder to control/use
