Printrbot ninjaflex settings

by sky99 on Sun Jan 04, 2015 6:37 pm

Hello!
I have a printrbot simple metal, and printed the adafruit ninjaflex upgrade, and installed it. I am using the ninjaflex filament sold here, and i have difficulties with it.
My prints are stringy, even if i did manage to print fine the first stuffs.

I have stringy results, and i would like to know the settings used by the adafruit staff?
In the video you obtain awsome prints, i'd like to do the same thing :)

So could someone post the settings, or provide a link to the config files?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Ninjaflex prints come out rather stringy and require considerable clean up as mentioned in the video. You have to turn off retraction and print with slower speeds then usual. We raised the nozzle temperature to 245c and extrude slower at 45mms with 150mms travel speeds as mentioned in the learning guide: https://learn.adafruit.com/printrbot-ni ... d-printing

thanks!

Hi!
i managed to print properly with very low print speeds (max 15mm/s),
but i still want to improve my prints.
I had a much lower nozzle temp of 220°C, so i will try your settings. Thanks :)

In attachement, this is what i printed :a vibration dampener for the adafruit peristaltic pump.

I will make a few adjustments to the scad file, then release the source and the stl file :)
