Round RGB TTL TFT Display - 4" 720x720 - NV3052C screen issue

Post by vinz102 »

Hello i just got a Round RGB TTL TFT Display - 4" 720x720 - NV3052C with Adafruit Qualia ESP32-S3 for TTL RGB-666 Displays.

I tried the code at this URL : https://learn.adafruit.com/qualia-s3-sp ... k/overview

Everything seems ok for the code. Nothing wrong appear in the IDE console. The arcade button works correctly.

But the screen display nothing and I can see some damage pixels in the bottom left of the screen. Attached is a picture of the screen.

I have tried reseating the connector between the Qualia ESP32 and the TFT. it made no difference.

Do you have any idea. Did I do something wrong?

What version of CircuitPython did you install?

What OS are you on? Are you sure you are connecting to the correct comm port to se the REPL console?

Thanks for your help. I downloaded the file Qualia_S3_Space_Clock.zip from https://learn.adafruit.com/qualia-s3-sp ... k/overview. There is 2 folders inside (CircuitPython 8.x and CircuitPython 9.x). I try both. 8.x gives me errors on my IDE but everythings fine using 9.x. Regarding your question about the port, i connect only one thing on my computer, so, i'm sure to connect the right one.

Did you install CircuitPython 9.0.0-beta on your Qualia board before copying over the downloaded bundle?

Can you show the layout of the files on the CIRCUITPY drive and the contents of INFO_UF2.TXT?

Thanks again for your help.

As mentionned in the tutorial, I downloaded adafruit-circuitpython-adafruit_qualia_s3_rgb666-en_US-9.0.0-beta.0.uf2 at this url : https://circuitpython.org/board/adafrui ... s3_rgb666/

Next I dragged the adafruit-circuitpython-adafruit_qualia_s3_rgb666-en_US-9.0.0-beta.0.uf2 file to TFT_S3BOOT. After waiting, the CIRCUITPY shows on screen.

Then I configured my settings.toml and copy the files from the CircuitPython 9.x folder (from the bundle Qualia_S3_Space_Clock.zip)

Inside the CIRCUITPY folder I actually have these files : Roboto-Regular-47.pcf, mars.bmp, earth.bmp, code.py, boot_out.txt and the lib folder that contains many files.

I dont see INFO_UF2.TXT.

Here's the content of the boot_out.txt. I dont know if it can help.

This all looks good. Thank you for providing these details.

CircuitPython provides a REPL console and you should be able to see the status of this code running.

What OS are you running? What IDE are you using to connect to the serial console?

I use an online IDE : https://urfdvw.github.io/CircuitPython-online-IDE2/

I can see this in console

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "code.py", line 205, in <module>
KeyboardInterrupt:

Code done running.
soft reboot
[2K[0GAuto-reload is on. Simply save files over USB to run them or enter REPL to disable.

And when I enter REPL, heres what I see

Code: Select all

Press any key to enter the REPL. Use CTRL-D to reload.

That all looks good too. You are seeing the program run and can reach the REPL. I had not use the on-line IDE interface before. Thank you for that link.

It looks like you setup everything correctly so the issue is likely the display. Please e-mail [email protected] to request a replacement. They will need your order# and this forum link which is your authorization.
