Weather display matrix (Adabox 016)

Post by jcalvin »

Back when Adabox 16 came out, I tried to add some forecast data John Park's "Weather Display Matrix" code. But, there just wasn't enough memory on the M4 Matrix Portal to manage what I wanted to do. Now there's an ESP32-S3 version of the Matrix Portal with LOTS of memory!

Attached is a .zip of all the files for a version of John Park's original weather display with the following modifications:
- adds forecast information to the display (if sufficient memory)
- adds ability to control which bits of data are displayed (from a settings file)
- adds ability to change the strings displayed with the data (display information in German if you like) via settings
- can change the colors of strings displayed via settings file
- assumes CircuitPython 9 or later

The settings.toml file must be updated with your particulars. The file weather_settings.py should have the latitude, longitude, and time zone set for your weather display.
