display options for SHT41 Trinkey - USB Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Post by raspieit »

first time tinkerer here...
i'd like some help in determining a small screen that would be simple (without soldering) to use with SHT41 usb.
thanks...

The problem is that there's no connection for a display. It would need wither I2C or SPI, neither of which are accessible. Unless.. you wanted to try soldering onto the pins of the SAMD21 chip. Tricky with experience on a good day.

Another thought is to move away from a Trinkey and move to a platform with more options. You will need to combine two boards, but in some cases that can be done without soldering.

Lets see, an ESP32-S3 feather board with built-in TFT display and SHT41 Stemma board should do nicely in theory. Unlike the ESP32-S2 boards, the ESP32-S3 boards have native USB support (much like the trinkeys do). It also has the Stemma Qwiic connector on board, so you can hook up the sensor:

thanks for that suggestion of a complete system.
in fact, i was searching for a board with built-in small display.
i'll have to get a few parts and start tinkering...
