compare L9110H with DRV8871
Can someone explain the difference between L9110H H bridge motor driver and DRV8871 Motor driver, please? the descriptions read similarly, and it seems my students could use either one to control DC motors on simple robots. I appreciate the education!

Re: compare L9110H with DRV8871
Also, the DRV8871 has active current limiting. It can be configured to limit the output current to a certain level (default is 2A). If the load tries to pull more than that, it will automatically throttle it back to the limit.
The L9110 does not have active current limiting. If your motor pulls more than 800mA (or if you accidentally short-circuit the outputs), the L9110 will go up in smoke.
For that reason, the DRV8871 is a safer choice for a classroom situation.
