My wife (after receiving some very unsubtle hints) gave me a set of these tweezers for Christmas.
Unfortunately, they appear to be DOA. I charged the battery and got a satisfying LED during the process, but the screen on the controller does not light up when plugged into the body of the tweezers. When I attach it to a computer (Mac) using the supplied USB cable, there is no sign of life and it does not mount as a USB drive as promised by the instructions. The user manual on the manufacturer website is in Chinese so that's not helping me much.
Am I missing something obvious?

We have an English version of the user manual linked from the product page:
https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/product-f ... +V1.05.pdf
Skim though that to see if there are any setup steps that help.

Re: DT71 mini digital tweezers inop
Thank you, that's going to be very helpful.
Turns out I was just not being firm enough when seating the controller into the arms. It takes a fair push to fully seat it, and the base of the 3.5mm plug is recessed into the controller so it's not obvious.
