Glue for conductive rubber?

Post by KazimirO »

Anyone found a way to stick conductive rubber parts together? Or maybe you know what type of rubber it is? Butyl, nitrile, latex?

Have you tried E6000? It works on silicones, which are notoriously hard to glue.

Latex is unlikely, but if there's an elastomer there's probably a conductive version of it somewhere.

In terms of basic price, I'd expect polyurethanes to be the most common. Your best bet will be to look for a datasheet on the specific product you're using though.

Sorry, this is the product: https://www.adafruit.com/product/5464
It doesn't seem to have a datasheet.
I've tried silicone, and normal tire cement doesn't work. Maybe it's EPDM? Nitrile?

You're probably needing a conductive adhesive?

Oddly enough, the adhesive does not need to be conductive for my use case. Insulating it is more the issue.

Just FYI, E6000 does not work at all, but RTV silicone sealant seems to work OK.
Maybe it *is* silicone rubber?

We haven't gotten any response from the vendor yet, so thanks for the follow-up!
