IR Controlled NeoPixel Glasses with 3D Printed Frames (Trink

I designed these glasses as a tool to help improve eye contact for children with speech delays. My 2 year old son has a speech delay and it can be difficult for him to maintain good eye contact during the speech exercises we do together. Eye contact is important to help reinforce the proper lip/facial movements when making different sounds.

After a first prototype showed promising results, I made this enclosed version with 3D printed frames. They are a bit bulky and bit heavy, but they are only worn for 30 minutes sessions. The 24 pixel ring seems to be the proper size to draw attention to the eyes without obscuring them.

I will post the related files for these after I've had some more time to experiment. I probably need to add some more animation modes to keep thing interesting. If anyone is interested in the files in their current state, just let me know and I will make them available. Any suggestions are welcome.

Parts:
5v Trinket
2 24-NeoPixel Rings
IR Sensor
Mini NEC Remote
500 mAH LIPO
3D Printed Frames (Natural & White PLA)

Looks really cool! I am interested in the STLs so I can create my own. :)

Here are the files. In the "3d files" directory are the 123d design files. If you need stl, just install 123d (it's free) and export stl from there.
