Shrinked TV b gone

Post by lyczewskiand »

Hello and welcome.
I wonder if I could shrink this tv-b-gone v1.2 https://learn.adafruit.com/tv-b-gone-kit/parts-list
to make it as small as possible to fit inside keychain flashlight http://www.clickonway.com/wp-content/up ... hain-0.jpg
I would like to use SMD transistor.
only 2 IR LEDs driven by one transistor (what should i do with unconnected pins? connect them to ground?)
no indicator green LED (leave unconnected pin or connect to GND?)
Use internal uC oscillator which is quite accurate?

Regards

You should be able to shrink it considerably with just a 2-led output.. Leave the unused pins unconnected. Don't connect them to ground.

You don't need to do anything with the pins, just don't use them and make your board smaller.

Do you know how to change source code to use internal uC oscillator? Or it is only a matter of leaving fusebits to use internal clock oscillator because maybe (i don't know) program already has a "#define #define F_CPU 8000000UL" ?

Nice build! I don't think I've ever seen one quite that small.

I used this 3 led keychain

I designed a pcb to match with button placement.
