Problems with Ultrasonic Range Finder - LV-MaxSonar EZ0

Post by luisoo »

Hi,

I purchased 3 units of the sensor Ultrasonic Range Finder - LV-MaxSonar-EZ0 on 04/11/2016. I started using them couple of days ago and I had some problems with 2 of 3 I had bought. Those 2 don't give me a measure of the range in volts, it's like they are not working becouse they are burned or something like that. As I said, one of them is working fine, that's why I think the rest are broken when they came -they didn't work any time-. I ordered them on kiwi electronics, here are the details:

Order ID: 80880
Date Added: 06/04/2016
Product Model Quantity Price Total
Maxbotix Ultrasonic Rangefinder - LV-EZ0 ADA-979 3 € 32.95 € 98.85
UPS Standard: € 20.00
Sub-Total: € 98.22
BTW (21%): € 20.63
Total: € 118.85

tracking number:

1Z649W486845990122 UPS

Thanks.

I ordered them on kiwi electronics,...
Have you contacted Kiwi Electronics about this? If you post some photos showing your soldering and connections to the sensors we will take a look.

Yes, I have already spoken with Kiwi Electronics and they told me I have to talk with you, here are some photos with easy setup to test the range finder. As i said before, one of the 3 sensors is working fine with the same setup.

Thanks for your attention.

Please post a photo that clearly shows your soldering to the sensor.

Those don't appear to be soldered at all. You need a good electrical connection for reliable operation. If you don't want to solder to the sensor, you can use something like a hook probe clip.

Here is a photo with the sensor soldered, and it does not work. Only one of them is working. Thanks.
