PiGRRL pack 2.o stock.

Post by SDK »

Is there a time frame of when this will be back in stock? I notice on the parts list that when something finally gets back in stock another thing goes out of stock, are you waiting for everything to be back in stock? or a certain time to release the kit? I have the 3d print all ready done and dying to make the rest. Yes could buy individual parts but want the SD card as well (plus its cheaper).

Thanks

Kits don't pull from regular stock, so it doesn't matter if individual items go out-of-stock.
Not sure what the holdup on the kit is. I'll check

I noticed the price adjustment yesterday too, although I discovered it is because the kit will no longer contain the battery as per the message on the product page. The battery costs $15 and the price dropped $15.

"Note: As of May 3rd, 2016, this product no longer contains the Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 2500mAh."

I also noticed that it doesn't say coming soon anymore, just out of stock. Looking through the forums there seems to be problems with sound and some other issues. Maybe the Ruiz Brothers are working on fixes for the issues? Or maybe a RPi3 edition? We'll have to wait and see.

Just wanted to bump this - any updates on when these may be available again? Would love to get my hands on a kit and start building!

I added myself to the notify by email list. It took about 2 weeks. Hang in there and when you get that email buy it right away!

It hasn't been in stock. IIRC, there were some unexpected delays in the supply chain.

When we have them, we'll send notices.

Got one! Awesome!

Not to hijack this thread, but a couple quick questions about them if I may. I'm sure I sound like a total noob, but are there specifications on what type of microUSB charger you should use to charge these? Standard Raspberry Pi charger? Basic cell phone charger OK?

Also, can you hook up your Pi directly to a Pi charger to test the circuit or do you need the battery? Still waiting on batteries as they seem to still be out of stock, but I'd like to be able to test the circuit prior to finalizing assembly even if I don't have a LiPo battery pack by then.

I may be overthinking this, but I'd rather check than blow up my PiGrrl :)

Thanks for any advice!

Any 5V charger that will put out at least 500mA will work.

No need to have the battery attached.
