Fails to work - I know it is me.

Post by Kyleparr »

Hi,

I have two TV B Gones I’ve tried to put together today and both of failed miserably. Just looking I can tell that my soldering absolutely sucks, which is a bummer since I just did another learn to solder kit where my solders were great, Or at least acceptable. What am I doing wrong with soldering these joints?

TV be gone is my f-ing nemesis, at this point. Help!! :-)

What exactly is the problem? LED not blinking when you power it up?

It looks like some of your solder joints may not have flowed well onto the solder pads. Be sure to heat both the solder pad and the pin with the tip of your soldering iron. Make sure that the solder melts and flows onto both.

This guide has some tips on soldering: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-gui ... -soldering
