Heat Set Insert Rig Question

Post by bchau »

Hi,

Looking to build the Heat Set Insert Rig, and I have a question about the heat set inserts.

The two (McMaster and Amazon) listed M3 heat set insert links are different widths and lengths, and the photos look like the smaller (3mm?) length inserts.

Which ones are the best ones to use for the designed printed parts?

Thanks!

M3 is a good size, which I use exclusively so far. The outside pattern and length can vary between models/brands. I find the longer, more aggressively patterened (with longer diagonal teeth) get a better grip and are less likely to slip and pull out.
