Solder Sucker problem
Got the silicon solder sucker and it stopped working. It no longer has can suck, from what I can tell nothing is wrong with it though, other than the fact that it won’t suck solder. Please help.

Re: Solder Sucker problem
Have you tried cleaning out the solder? It tends to form a plug in the nozzle. You can usually pull it out from the front, but sometimes you need to partially disassemble the pump to get it all out.

Yeah, I checked the pump but didn’t see any solder buildup in any part of the pump.

It is a pretty simple mechanism. But it does benefit from some periodic maintenance.
Unscrew the back of the cylinder and pull out the plunger mechanism, you will find a metal disk with a rubber seal around it. Clean all the parts and re-lubricate the rubber seal with some vaseline or light grease. Look through the tube to make sure there is no debris obstructing the nozzle. Then re-assemble.
