CLUE board got corrupted in the middle of the Wonder Worksho

Post by Jujube »

Hi,

We participated in the Wonder cup Wonder Workwhop contest this year and purchased all the equipment with Adafruit. We’ve had nothing but trouble with the equipment we purchased, especially the CLUE board. The last trouble we faced was today while I was trying to code the Cue Robot with my 9 years old daughter, and the CLUE (codre.py file) got miraculously corrupted (losing all the code that I had been developing with my daughter during the Christmas vacation, after having faced tons of problems with this fantastic piece of equipment). Now, we only receive messages saying that the code is unusable and corrupted. I tried to reset the board but it is impossible to do. It’s like if the corrupted code.py file is attached to the board and there is absolutely no way to get rid of it.
This message is intended for Adafruit. Could we return the equipment we bought from you and get reimbursed, for us to forget about this painful experience we faced with the CLUE board ?

Thanks and happy new year.

It sounds like your CIRCUITPY drive is corrupted. This can happen if the board was reset or unplugged while you were writing a file. It's like pulling out a USB stick when you're copying a file to it. Try copying off any files from the drive if you can, to salvage at least some of your work. Then you can erase and reformat the drive: https://learn.adafruit.com/welcome-to-c ... 2978456-26. There are a number of caveats described here about how your drive might become corrupted:

As you have sadly found, it's always a good idea to have a backup of your program.

I'm sorry you had so much difficulty. Do you have a pointer to the Wonder Workshop using the CLUE? I looked around but could not find anything on their website. I would like to look at their instructions.

In general our warranty is for 30 days for defective products. We can figure out if this is defective or not.
