I was just about to buy your
micro:bit Crickit Robot kit Created by Richard Albritton

But what does this mean????
MakeCode is currently not available for Crickit for micro:bit or the Crickit HAT for Raspberry Pi.

see link

Thanks Dave,

But at the top of the web page link you sent is the statement "MakeCode is currently not available for Crickit for micro:bit". in bright blue!!

Why is Adafruit is selling micro:bit Crickit Robot kit if MakeCode is currently not available for Crickit for micro:bit?

Is there someone from Adafruit that can explain if this is true"MakeCode is currently not available for Crickit for micro:bit." and why Adafruit is selling Crickit Robot kit if it does not work with MakeCode?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, I saw that notice. But yet, it's an installable extension.

First, there are several programming options other than MakeCode.

I just verified with hardware that the Crickit extension for Makecode/Micro:bit does, in fact, work. This is software, which a moving target at the best of times. Things can change daily and documentation (tutorials in this case) don't always get updated. Bah.. it won't let me upload a video. Anyway, it works, at least for servos.

You can also use Arduino with micro:bit and Crickit, so there are options for different users and board combos.

Thankyou for testing!!!

I was just looking to get a 7-10 Crickit for micro bit bords to use with MakeCode at a school.

Is there a way to talk/email with a Rep from adafruit to get update on software support for Makecode
Crickit for micro bit to use with MakeCode.

If it goes well the school could buy 100s.

We have to use Makecode with the kids so I just would like to know what is the status of support.

Thanks again for all the help. Have a good weekend.

Well, it does appear to work using what was described in the guide.

For contacts... I guess the best might be to contact the committers to the ptx-crickit code. https://github.com/adafruit/pxt-crickit.

I suggest you get a crickit for micro:bit and see if it (and Makecode) will do everything you need. Then decide how to proceed from there. Makecode is a web based system so you will always be at the whim of microsoft as to what it supports and for how long. It is opensource so you should be able to run it on a local (e.g. classroom) server, insulating yourself from issues with the MS hosted one.
