Add a New Component to Wippersnapper?

Post by TI545 »

Brent,

I was interesting in adding components when I read this:
https://blog.adafruit.com/2022/03/10/ne ... ocode-iot/

And when I get to this page:
https://learn.adafruit.com/how-to-add-a ... get-set-up
I go to git, and your wippersnapper_components page:
https://github.com/adafruit/Wippersnapper_Components

but . . . on that page it says this:
Wippersnapper Component Definitions

Welcome! This repository contains JSON definition files and images that allow components and sensors to be used with WipperSnapper, Adafruit IO's no-code IoT service.

Note: We aren't ready for user submissions yet as we're still finalizing the format and tools.

You've written a nice learning guide, any ETA on when will it be in effect?

Hi, sorry for the confusion. That guide is currently in effect, we're happy to take and review user-contributed components!

I've updated the GitHub readme to remove the line about "We aren't ready for user submissions yet" and added a link to the guide under Contributing.
