Clue as a body temperature sensor?

Post by Peter_Gamma »

We are interested in using the Clue as a body temperature measurement device. But somewhere in web we found the info that the Clue temperature is inaccurate, because the board heats up and the temperature is not correct. Somewhere else we could read the info, that one should not use the backlight of the Clue display, since it heats up the temperature sensor.

Are these issues resolvable to use the Clue as a body temperature sensor?

The CLUE could be usable for measuring changes in body temperature, but as stated on it's guide page:
Note: The temperature will read higher than ambient temperature because of the backlight on the CLUE display.

If you could take an ambient reading (off-body) then measure the changes on body that seems reasonable, but it of course would never be giving you an accurate body temperature.

The CLUE has a stemma port and there are options for easy plugin temperature sensors that use that connector. Placed under the armpit these could be accurate body temperature sensors.
