Using Music Maker Shield with ESP8266
I'd like to use the Music Maker shield in "MIDI mode" with a Wemos D1 mini (ESP8266). I want to send MIDI commands to the shield, and also read data from the SD card. Is this doable? Will I be able to power from USB via pins on the Wemos, or need an external power supply? Which pins on the shield will I need to connect? Thanks very much!

Re: Using Music Maker Shield with ESP8266
I'm also trying (unsuccessfully) to interface with an Arduino Mega 2560 Pro. Here's the wiring I'm using:
5v (Mega) -> 5v (MM)
Gnd (Mega) -> Gnd (MM)
D50 (Mega) -> D12 (MM)
D51 (Mega) -> D11 (MM)
D52 (Mega) -> D13 (MM)
D2 (Mega) -> D2 (MM)
I'm loading the "player miditest" example, which is running successfully when I plug the MM Shield into an Uno. I'm getting no sound out. Is my wiring incorrect or incomplete? Thanks!
